Tracker System

Tracker Logo

A TRACKER unit is a small electronic homing device, which is fitted to your vehicle in a covert place that is virtually impossible to detect. There are no telltale aerials to give its presence away and when activated the unit emails a silent signal that can only be tracked by the police. Each TRACKER system uses a dedicated network of land based radio transmitters that enable the police to locate your vehicle, even if it's hidden in a container, underground car park or garage. All 52 of the UK's police forces operate the tracker system, police cars and helicopters are fitted with the computer tracking system required to quickly track and locate the stolen vehicle to its exact position - normally within just a few hours. Detection systems are also situated at fixed sites such as ports.

There are 3 types of TRACKER system available:

TRACKER Retrieve - Once you realise that your vehicle has been stolen, you notify the police and the TRACKER 24 hour control room. TRACKER then activate the unit and the police begin to track the stolen vehicle.

TRACKER Monitor - This system incorporates a movement detector where the unit actually senses the theft of the vehicle and automatically alerts TRACKER Network. In turn TRACKER will contact you for confirmation of the probable theft. Once confirmed the police begin to track the vehicle.

TRACKER Horizon - This works in the same way as TRACKER Monitor, but also incorporates a satellite-location device. The benefit of this dual technology means that the stolen vehicle can be instantly located on computer based maps by operators in TRACKER's 24 hour control room. The police are then directed to the vicinity of the stolen vehicle where they use land based radio technology to locate the vehicle, wherever it may be hidden.

To date, TRACKER and the police have been responsible for the recovery of over 11,500 vehicles worth a staggering £218 million. These recoveries have also led to the arrest of over 1,590 car thieves and their accomplices.
